We’re back with a second season of “Not Your Black History” collection. This hoodie is a token of anarchy, and the acknowledgment of the indigenous lineage rooted from the land. The design is a jab at the stolen land where "Mount Rushmore" lives and not being "founding fathers" for indigenous people (and people of color that aren't indigenous to America). Hence the design of this piece to be exact, "Aint My HIStory". The back of this hoodie reflects how we’ve spoken our truths through various art forms such as the lyrics of Notorious BIG aka Biggie. It’s more to streetwear than being fly, express yourself and lifestyle through your wardrobe!
"Before it became known as Mount Rushmore, the Lakota called this granite formation Tunkasila Sakpe Paha, or Six Grandfathers Mountain. It was a place for prayer and devotion for the Native people of the Great Plains, explains Donovin Sprague, head of the history department at Sheridan College in Wyoming and a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe."
